As promised here are a couple of pictures of the beach in Ain Sokhna - see the chair - just waiting for you to come and join us. The water was so clear - tried to take a picture of my foot in the water - but it did not turn out very well - I think there were too many people in the water - not calm enough. But the water was so clear you could see the bottom - you could even see the little fish swimming around. The water is very shallow. To get out to where it was over one's head you had to walk out just about to that speckon the horizon - which is in fact a boat that belongs to the resort.

We saw a small dinghy load up with four people - a cooler and what looked like snorkelling equipment and head out to the boat - and then the boat took off - so I am assuming that if you wanted to go snorkelling they would take you. And here is a pic of me basking in the sun - love the hat and the shades - but I was very good - my face was slathered with sunscreen and then protected to the best of my ability.

Look at the kids and adults behind me - they were having a ball playing in the sand - this was taken on Thursday - when it was getting 'crowded' - before we left on Thursday the water was actually getting quite busy - not nearly as busy as it will be in the summer - but a lot busier than it had been.
Here is a picture of my friend Margaret's newest additions to the family. I stayed with Margaret and her husband Mustafa in Ain Sukhna. Peach faced love birds - sure are noisey little critters - kept waking me up early - but they will be a lot of 'company' to Margaret - who is currently not working. And I must admit Ain Sokhna is certainly very quiet when there are no holidayers. It is a very large complext and I think there may be only five or six permanent residents living there - so very very quiet.

Here is my hat full of shells. The first day we were at the beach (Monday) we collected lots of shells - the next three days were not nearly as productive - now I just need a place to 'display' them. Each day we went for a walk along the shore and looked for shells - was good exercise.

I am SO jealous! That water and beach looks SO awesome. What is that "fuzzy like" shell in your hat? Why is it coated with fuzz??

Lynn - that fuzzy stuff on the shell is plant material of some kind - I thought it was kind of neat - so will not be cleaning it off - there is also another shell that shows signs of having 'worms' living on it - very intriguing. The water and the beach were awesome - the temp here in Alex is getting to the mid to high 30's - ALREADY - wishing I were still at the beach.

CG - I am very fortunate - one of my friends actually lives in the Stella Di Mare compound - so the price is right - just the gas to drive there. She has a spare bedroom - so I just pack and go - it is great. If Libya were not looming on the horizon I would be planning on spending a lot of time there - LOL.
